Corpac indicated that everything was due to a short circuit in the network that supplies energy to the runway lights. After 10 hours, the problem was resolved and planes could be received at the airport.
This situation affected 129 flights and more than 8,000 passengers. The Minister of Transportation and Communications, Raúl Pérez Reyes, described the event as a “fortuitous event” and announced that “there would be no sanction,” since in this case “there is no cover-up.”
