To achieve this, the authorities “will carry out special operations against this organization at the national level to dismantle its peripheral networks and all the gangs and organizations dedicated to committing the crimes of extortion, kidnapping, hitmen, illicit arms trafficking and aggravated robbery, among others”.
As part of this effort, he recalled that the Government has ordered the creation of the transnational crimes investigation division “as a concrete action to reduce citizen insecurity.”
This unit will initially be made up of 300 elite troops and “will work closely with the United States Department of Security, which will also be responsible for the training of these 300 agents.”
The criminal gang 'Tren de Aragua' was born in a Venezuelan prison and has spread throughout Chile, Peru and Bolivia, becoming a regional security threat.
