Participants at the conclusion of the second session of the French-Gulf Forum, organized by the French government, praised the advanced economic legislative environment that the UAE enjoys.
In his opening speech of the forum, which concluded yesterday and lasted for two days in Paris, His Excellency Bruno Le Maire, French Minister of Economy and Finance, stressed the strategy of relations between France and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, referring to the important visit he made last May to the UAE, which… He described it as a strategic and reliable ally of France due to the strong political, economic and cultural partnership that brings the two countries together.
He pointed to the areas of partnership between France and the UAE, including joint work to combat the repercussions of climate change, noting the success of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28), which was held in Dubai, in achieving significant progress to reduce carbon in the world.
A group of officials, economic experts and investors from France and the Arab Gulf countries participated in the forum, with the aim of strengthening economic and trade cooperation between the two sides.
The forum included plenary sessions in which keynote speeches addressed the strategic directions to enhance the economic partnership between France and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries. Speakers focused on the importance of modernizing economic laws and legislation in advancing sustainable development and attracting foreign investments.
In this context, many participants praised the great efforts made by the UAE in improving its economic legislative environment, making it a model to be emulated in the region, and pointed out that the UAE was able to create an attractive environment for investments thanks to flexible and transparent legislation, and continuous improvements in infrastructure and government services.
For his part, Jean-Pierre LeGrand, one of the French investors participating in the forum, stressed that the UAE offers promising investment opportunities in various economic sectors, and is considered one of the best investment destinations in the world, thanks to its innovative and supportive legislative environment for business.
The forum sessions reviewed the successful experiences of French and Gulf companies operating in the Emirates, and highlighted a number of joint projects between France and the Emirates in the field of artificial intelligence.
The participants stressed that the economic partnership between France and the UAE has broad prospects, especially in the fields of technology, renewable energy and tourism.
For his part, Yves Renaud, Vice President of the French Suez Group specializing in water supply, electricity, natural gas and waste management, expressed the group’s aspiration to continue its cooperation and partnership with the Gulf countries, especially the UAE, pointing out that the partnership with the UAE represents an important opportunity to exchange experiences and apply the latest technologies in the fields of Vital such as sustainable resource and energy management.
For his part, Geoffrey Giry, director of a French company specializing in data transmission via light, said that the company sees the UAE as a promising market for applying advanced data transmission technologies.

At the conclusion of the forum, they called for the continued strengthening of economic relations between France and the Arab Gulf states, with a focus on exchanging experiences and best practices in the field of economic legislation and artificial intelligence technology.
