We are just a few hours away from the official launch of Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door on Nintendo Switch. However, and as seems to be a tradition for any major release for this console, The ROM of the title has already been leaked, and spoilers are circulating on the internet.
Although we are talking about a game that came to the GameCube in 2004, 20 years ago, this is still an adventure with a great focus on its story, and it is very likely that many people will experience this title for the first time on Nintendo Switch. Thus, It’s best to stay away from sites like Twitter and Reddit to avoid any kind of substantial spoilers.
With this, The leak has revealed that this remastering uses the same graphics engine as Paper Mario: The Origami King, and the code name of the project was “GogoS”. The interesting thing is that this is not new. Titles like Super Mario RPG, Super Mario Bros. Wonder, Pikmin 4and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom They suffered the same fate, and their ROMs reached the public’s hands days before their official release.
This is a problem that is not in Nintendo’s hands, since these types of leaks arise when a store sells these titles ahead of time. Thus, It seems that stopping these leaks is impossible. We can only wait to see how the Big N will react to this. On related topics, you can check our review of Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door on Nintendo Switch here. Author’s Note:
Leaks of this type are always negative. Not only do spoilers affect all those who want to have an intact experience, but many choose to cancel their pre-orders, and instead download the game on their PC.
