Owners of Baldur's Gate 3 would already be thinking about the sequel

Undoubtedly, Baldur's Gate 3 has managed to stand out within the world of gaming, to the point that it won the game of the year award because users have considered this adventure to be the longest, given that the product is full of content and with different campaigns despite to start from scratch. With that in mind, it is possible that you are already thinking about the next chapter, and that it will not take long to arrive as was the case from the second release compared to the third.

It is well known that the franchise owners are Hasbrowho are currently making million-dollar investments in the video game business, something that has people excited to see the next part of BD, but there is only one drawback with the matter, and that is that Larian Studios They don't want to continue with the saga, not even for a possible DLC. Given this, there is the question of how they can continue, since they do not want to take on a new studio that will undermine the reputation of the franchise.

The media has contacted Eugene Evanssenior vice president of Digital Strategy and Licensing at Hasbro with Wizards of the Coast, and that's where it came out that they are already seeing how it will play out Baldur's Gate 4, ensuring that they will take their time to find the right developers. That does not mean that it will also be an exaggeration of years, since it will not take more than 25 years for people to finally continue exploring the medieval environment full of missions and decisions.

Here what was mentioned:

We are now talking to many partners and are being approached by many partners who are taking on the challenge of what the future of the Baldur's Gate franchise will look like. We hope that another 25 years do not pass, as happened between Baldur's Gate 2 and 3.

We take it very, very seriously, as we do with all our decisions around our portfolio. We won't rush into deciding who to partner with or what products we should consider.

Larian created a cast of much-loved characters, which were even awarded, the voice actors behind it and the talent was recognized at the BAFTAS. And now they're essentially part of the D&D canon. I think it's too early to express concrete details and I think there's a much bigger question about how we approach Baldur's Gate in the future. But I would like to think that all of those characters, for the fans' sake, could potentially appear in future projects.

Remember that Baldur's Gate 3 is now available in PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.

Author's note: Without Larian Studios in development, the question remains as to who can take care of this work. However, we may be drawing conclusions much earlier than necessary.
