Blizzard ensures that players will have cross-progression in the new installment of their hero shooter.
There is less left for the arrival of Overwatch 2, but first some things that affect the players of the first installment must be resolved. Blizzard has detailed through a publication in the official blog of the saga that users can now start to merge your accounts to maintain progression between the two games.
The only thing needed to do it is have a Battle.net account and follow the instructions that will appear on the screen once we enter the game in the next few days. PC players won’t have to do anything and will see their progress automatically carry over from Overwatch to Overwatch 2.
Will have cross-platform progressNote that this function limited to one account per platform, which means that if we have two accounts from, for example, Xbox, we will have to choose only one of them, but instead we can merge accounts from other consoles. If we decide to go back, we can undo the merge, but it will take a year to link another account from another system, so think carefully.
In addition to the account merge process, Blizzard has confirmed that Overwatch 2 will feature cross platform progression. This can be really useful for users who play from different places, since what we get playing, for example, on PC, we can then keep on Nintendo Switch once we turn on the console with an internet connection.
Blizzard has ruled out holding more public betas before the official release of Overwatch 2 on PC and consoles. The game will land on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch on October 4, 2022at which point the second part will replace the original title and the loot boxes will disappear as such.
