The railway transport company Ouigo has cut around 50% of its services on some of its lines after an incident with a train without passengers that occurred yesterday Saturday in the high-speed tunnel that connects the Madrid stations of Atocha and Chamartín.
The affected routes will be those that depart and arrive from Madrid, Valencia, Alicante, Elche, Murcia, Cuenca, Valladolid, Albacete and Segovia. as they are all operated from the Madrid Chamartín station. The rest of the routes will operate normally, as reported by the company in a statement.
Ouigo points out that this incident may also lead to delays and schedule changes in operating trains.
The company points out that this is due toto the limitation imposed by the incident, which has isolated part of its rolling stock fleet and the capacity limitations that being able to operate only from the Madrid Atocha station implies for all operators.
Ouigo explains that they are in “constant” contact with passengers to offer alternatives and solutions and that they hope that circulation can be restored as soon as possible.
