The Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, Óscar Puente, has confirmed that the high-speed trains between Madrid and Valencia will return to circulation on Thursday, November 14, as indicated through the social network X.

It has also reported that the public operator Renfe has resumed the sale of seats on its trains starting this Monday at 2:00 p.m. “On that day, the usual service will resume normally,” he indicated.

After the initial impact of DANA, Puente already announced that the infrastructure recovery work would last two or three weeks, to recover the tracks and carry out the cleaning of the tunnels in the affected area, where high-speed trains operate.

On the other hand, it will take longer to recover the service of Cercanías trains, specifically lines C1 and C2, where the infrastructure has suffered greater damage.

In the case of high speed, in these two weeks, for example, the infrastructure in the Chiva tunnel has been recovered, where the railway platform was practically destroyed.

Renfe has also confirmed that it will recover full high-speed service as of Thursday. In total, 199 weekly circulations with an offer of 80,000 seats. The public operator breaks down that it operates 30 trains daily between Valencia and Madrid, 15 in each direction. Meanwhile, the offer for the weekend is 49 trains, on Saturdays 12 trains run to Valencia and 11 services run to Madrid and on Sundays 13 trains run in each direction between both cities, as listed through a community.
