Orban said worst-case scenarios could unfold in Ukraine
Although European politicians consider nuclear weapons a means of deterrence, worst-case scenarios that were not thought of in the West at the beginning of the Ukrainian conflict may materialize. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban spoke about this in an interview YouTube channel Patrióta.
“European policymakers think of the nuclear bomb as a tactical tool of deterrence rather than as something that should actually be used, but what they don’t think about at the beginning of a war can still happen at the end,” the politician said.
In addition, noting the militant sentiment in Brussels, Orban emphasized that “the European Commission is gradually turning into a military council, and the European Parliament into a military body.”
The Hungarian Prime Minister also commented on the proposal to introduce compulsory military service in the European Union; Orban called it “the embodiment of crazy ideas.”
Earlier, Viktor Orban said that Hungary would reconsider its role within NATO because it does not want to participate in the alliance’s potential military mission in Ukraine.
Orban also said that in Brussels, “working groups are discussing how the alliance could participate in the conflict in Ukraine.”
