Genoa – The Public Prosecutor of Genoa formulated the filing request for the three Florentine magistrates owners of the investigation into the Open Foundation accused of abuse of office: the chief prosecutor of Florence Giuseppe Creazzo, the deputy prosecutor Luca Turco and the deputy prosecutor Antonino Nastasi. The file had been opened in recent days – first against unknown persons and later with the names of those who had dealt with the investigation into the foundation – after a complaint presented by the leader of Italia Viva, Matteo Renzi. To whom the decision will be notified on the same day, as well as to those directly involved. The reasons are not yet there, but the chief prosecutor acting in Genoa, Francesco Pinto, and the deputy prosecutor Vittorio Ranieri Miniati, owner of the files on possible crimes committed by Tuscan magistrates (the Genoese investigating office has territorial jurisdiction), are went to the substance of the matter, formulating the request for acquittal after a thorough examination of the documentation.
The Florence Prosecutor’s Office asked the indictment of Renzi and ten other suspects, including deputies Maria Elena Boschi (parent company Italia Viva) and Luca Lotti (Pd), the former president of Open Alberto Bianchi and entrepreneurs Marco Carrai and Patrizio Donnini. The crimes alleged in various ways for them are illegal party financing, corruption, influence trafficking, self-laundering and the issuance of invoices for non-existent transactions.
The former Prime Minister, pointing the finger at the three magistrates, had asked to be heard by the Genoese prosecutors, “reserving the right to produce material to corroborate the criminal complaint against Creazzo, Turco and Nastasi”. Indeed, he had also declared: “I have not committed any crime, I hope that the Florentine magistrates can say the same in good conscience “. A note from the press office of the senator of Italia Viva had then harshly criticized the request for indictment: “It was signed by the prosecutor Creazzo, sanctioned for sexual harassment by the CSM, by the assistant prosecutor Turco, who wanted the arrest of the parents di Renzi then annulled by the court of freedom, and by the prosecutor Nastasi, accused by an officer of the Carabinieri of having polluted the crime scene in the context of the death of the MPS executive David Rossi ”.
Last Tuesday the Senate, precisely on the case of the Open Foundation, voted in favor of the attribution conflict against the magistrates of Florence, agreeing with the leader of Italia Viva. The result of the vote was 167 yes, 76 no and no abstentions.
