All those who tested positive stayed in the restaurant where the Christmas party took place, reports the broadcaster NRK, citing health authorities. In more than half of the cases, it is probably the new omicron variant of the virus. The day before, the health institute had confirmed 13 Omikron cases.
As NRK further reported, 70 of the infected were part of the same Christmas party. Two of them are said to have recently been to South Africa. The other 45 to 50 cases had visited the site on the same day. The authorities called on all people to report who still visited the restaurant in Oslo after November 26th. According to FHI information on Saturday, there have been a total of 19 Omikron cases in Norway, including four people who had traveled from South Africa.
