“It resulted in a dramatic 24 hours. Late in the evening, I had to look for a place to get a Chinese-approved PCR test in Helsinki and go there. The place was open for an extra hour for me, ”Edebo said.

After that, Edebon had to find a hotel and wait for the test result to arrive so that he could get the QR code green through it.

Eventually, Edebo got up at five in the morning and took the first possible plane to Beijing, but the trip had to be made via Paris. If Edebo hadn’t got to the Paris plane, he should have been in Finland for two days longer.

Edebo, 26, will compete in Beijing on Thursday. In the previous two World Cup competitions before Beijing, he finished second and fourth.
