Olympic Games Chinese skating favorites cross the waters of difficulty and brighten Pyeongchang to silver

The victory in the extremely tight race was decided by a difference of 0.63 points.

The Beijing Winter Olympics Home audience got a celebration theme for Saturday night when Chinese figure skaters Sui Wenjing and Han Cong reached the Olympic victory in doubles skating.

The winning streak in the competition was very tight. Sui and Han totaled 239.88 points after the free program. Silver reached the Russian Olympic Committee Jevgenia Tarasova and Vladimir Morozov were 0.63 points behind the pair.

After the short program, the Chinese led Tarasova and Morozov by 0.16 points.

Russian Olympic Committee Anastasia Mishina and Aleksandr Galliamov took the bronze with a score of 237.71.

The Olympic victory was sweet for 26-year-old Sui and three-year-old Han, as the pair fell short of Olympic silver at the Pyeongchang Games four years ago by 0.43 points. The duo has also won the World Championships in 2017 and 2019.

Sui and Han, the first Chinese figure skaters to win gold in the doubles competition after the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. The pair skated to the beat of the song Bridge Over Troubled Water.
