With its over 6 thousand members, the National Association of hospital cardiologists (Anmco) will meet in Rimini from 16 to 18 May for the annual congress, an event now in its 55th edition, with an emphasis on therapeutic innovations and secondary prevention. “At the center of the work are the treatments currently available for valvular diseases, with increasingly frequent percutaneous interventions – Fabrizio Oliva, national president of Anmco, explains to Adnkronos Salute – for heart failure, for hypercholesterolemia and amyloidosis, a pathology not so ‘rare’, characterized by an accumulation of anomalous protein aggregates that are deposited in different tissues of the body, resulting in organ damage”.
“Many topics were covered and there was ample scientific participation among national and international opinion leaders – underlines Oliva – who will meet in Rimini for the most important annual dissemination moment aimed, among other things, at better valorising the central and active role of Cardiology Italian in our National Health Service. The Anmco Congress is an unmissable opportunity for the best update on the major themes of cardiology in terms of prevention, treatment and research, thanks to an extensive scientific program and with contributions also from the major international cardiological scientific societies, such as the American Heart Association (Aha), the American College of Cardiology (Acc) and the European Society of Cardiology (Esc)”.
During the works “there will be many simulation sessions of diagnostic and interventional methods for young cardiologists who will thus be able to learn in the field – adds Oliva – how to position, for example, a catheter within the vascular system. Furthermore, the congress will also and above all be an opportunity to present the data from three of our observational studies, one is EyeShot on acute coronary syndromes; one on heart failure and one on secondary prevention”. The Anmco congress “confirms itself, as every year, as an open and stimulating meeting, fully demonstrating the commitment that Anmco has always spent to support the growth and training of hospital cardiologists . Not only that, this event – he concludes – represents the moment of greatest synthesis in the panorama of Italian medical-scientific conferences, being able to capture the interest and participation also from decision makers and stakeholders who can offer their contribution, together with many clinicians expected, at different specific moments divided into sessions, focuses and round tables”.
