We don’t have any official data yet to rely on, but based on several reports from industry experts it appears that Nvidia you are faced with a remarkable problem with his GeForce RTX 4080since new graphics cards, essentially, they are not sold.
We rely in particular on what is reported in the new video from Gamers Nexus, a rather reliable source regarding PC gaming hardware and the conditions of the reference market.
In the new in-depth video, the magazine focuses on the problem represented by the immobility of the GeForce RTX 4080, even compared to other models of the same generation by Nvidia.
Reportedly, it appears that the RTX 4090 they tend to find their own way, with a good response from the buying public, but the RTX 4080 “barely budges”, apparently. Retailers in Taiwan are finding themselves unable to sell the cards in question, according to Gamers Nexus.
The reason would be mainly the relationship between price and features of the card: considering the rather small difference between the price of an RTX 4080 (1,429 euros) and the price of an RTX 4090 (1,899 euros), the buyer seems to be aiming directly for the higher-end card, considering the difference in terms of power to performance, or directly choose the cheapest solutions.
It would therefore seem to emerge a problem of strategic placement of the card in a specific market segment, which by now is confused with that of the most unbridled enthusiasts, or rather the place that belongs to the RTX 4090, which for its part, however, represents a much more attractive offer in terms of “power per euro”. It remains to be seen whether or not Nvidia intends to remedy the matter in some way or if it simply wants to rely on a possible adjustment of the street price based on market trends.
