From the stage of Computex 2024, NVIDIA announced new guidelines for the development of small-sized graphics cards from the RTX range, which can therefore be equipped on systems with little space, with specific chassis and NUCs.
Thanks to the green house’s indications, manufacturers will be able to adapt very bulky GPUs to configurations that make small dimensions their strong point, without limiting users’ choice. Let’s discover together all the details on the new NVIDIA GeForce SFF-Ready graphics cards.
Big GPUs in small spaces
GeForce RTX cards are available in many sizes and with different features. However, higher-performance GPUs, such as the RTX 4090, require a lot of space to be properly mounted without problems.
For this reason, NVIDIA has announced the guidelines for GeForce SFF-Ready enthusiast cards: it is a series of instructions for the development of cards and cases that can establish a common standard for a small form factor.
The guidelines set a maximum height, width and depth for cards and cases that can be sponsored and sold as “SFF-Ready”.
In this way, even the most powerful GPUs will be able to find space in small desktops and NUCs, without limiting users’ possibilities. At the moment NVIDIA has announced the arrival of the first GeForce RTX 4080 SFF-Ready. Among the manufacturers who have joined the new format are ASUS, MSI, NZXT, Gigabyte, Cooler Master, Zotac and many others.
During the keynote, NVIDIA announced the arrival of the RTX AI Toolkit, a series of tools for integrating AI into video games and applications, showcasing the potential of Project G-Assist, an AI-based virtual assistant capable of revolutionizing the way we approach video games.
