Obviously it should be taken as a simple uncontrolled rumor, but considering the context it could be interesting: according to a user on Reddit, there is the possibility that a new Significant PlayStation Showcase is expected to September 2024.
According to what was reported by the alleged leaker, the event in question, scheduled for September, would be a real PlayStation Showcase, i.e. a larger event, destined to also host important news including Bungie games like Marathon and also a possible reference to Destiny 3.
The latter would be simply called “Destiny” but it would be the sequel to the series, therefore in all respects the third chapter, waiting to understand what the precise title of the game in question will be.
A PlayStation Showcase with news from Bungie?
The interesting thing is that the user who made this statement had previously talked about an expansion called Frontiers, which found a sort of confirmation in an official teaser from Bungie.
In fact, the name appears at the end of a recent video with details on Destiny 2: The Ultimate Forme, and this coincidence immediately launched the leaker into the limelight, causing this other possible revelation on the PlayStation Showcase to also be taken into consideration.
These rumors are obviously constant and fueled by Sony’s prolonged silence on its internal productions: many were aiming for the event at the end of May to be able to know something about the news from PlayStation Studios, but apparently the recent State of Play was not considered up to expectations, considering that requests also emerged for Sony, from fans, to organize an event like the Xbox Games Showcase seen last weekend.
