The search for the missing Èmile continues in France. The police now want to recreate the last moments in which the boy was seen.
Le Vernet – “We will not give up” because: “It is possible” that he is still alive. With these words the chief investigator in the case of the missing Èmile (2) in France recently spoke out. The child has been missing in France for more than eight months. Nevertheless, the search for him continues intensively. Now the police are taking extremely unusual and far-reaching measures.
Even months later, it is still completely unclear what happened to the two-year-old in a small mountain village in southern France. The hypotheses range from a bird of prey or wolf attack to a kidnapping. With a new campaign it is now hoped that new insights will be obtained: the last moments in which little Èmile was seen will be re-enacted on Thursday in Le Vernet, as the responsible authorities announced.
Èmile is still missing: police cordon off the entire village
The remote village with only 125 residents is cordoned off for this period. Anyone who breaks through the blockade or flies over the place with a drone risks a fine. Only the family and selected residents should take part in the reconstruction and recreate the day chronologically. The police hope this will provide new clues about the boy's mysterious disappearance.
Interest in the case in France remains high. The boy had been on vacation with his grandparents in town when they lost sight of him around the evening on July 8th. The last sign of life is that two witnesses saw the child running down a street at the time. The police searched the area several times with a large contingent. However, not the slightest clue to the boy's fate was found.
The last time a resident was searched was in mid-October, but it didn't lead to anything. It cannot be ruled out that something happened to the boy in the impassable nature. (dpa/rist)
