Ferrari has already guaranteed potential buyers that the car will remain exclusive: it will only be produced in limited numbers. But this Purosangue (Italian for thoroughbred) should bring Ferrari the success that Porsche and Lamborghini already had with their SUVs. Although it remains a strange duck in the bite: such a high car for a brand that has been making low sports cars since time immemorial.
The Purosangue has four-wheel drive and an 8-speed automatic transmission. It rests against the rear axle for ideal weight distribution. For Ferrari, which is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year, this is the first four-door four-seater, writes Autoweek, that the car has already explored extensively. It has become a surprisingly practical car: even the backs of the rear seats can be folded over to increase the luggage space. A literally serious drawback for a real sports car is that this Ferrari weighs 2,200 kilos.
In Italy, the Purosangue costs €390,000, including taxes. Prices for the Netherlands have not yet been announced. The first deliveries will take place in the second quarter of 2023.
