Yonhap: North Korea launches 600 garbage balloons into South Korea
The DPRK, starting at 14:00 Moscow time on June 1, launched about 600 balloons with garbage into South Korea. The agency reported this Yonhap.
It is noted that we are talking about balloons already found by the military. Celestial objects were recorded in the capital region, including Gyeonggi Province.
On May 29, North Korea sent over 150 balloons filled with garbage to South Korea. Shortly before this, North Korean authorities announced that they would respond to the distribution of propaganda materials by Seoul, including leaflets that contained criticism of Kim Jong-un.
After the incident, Deputy Chairman of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea Kim Yo-jong, the sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, said that the action was Pyongyang’s freedom of expression, the right to which Seoul must respect. She added that North Korea’s actions are a “gift of sincerity” against the “ghosts of liberal democracy.”
