The mayor of Cartagena, Noelia Arroyo, asked the Government delegate, Francisco Jiménez, for the “necessary means” to prevent an “uncontrolled exit to the streets of Cartagena of migrants arriving irregularly by boat.”
Arroyo asserted that “there is no longer an excuse for not being prepared, the waves of boats are not isolated events.” For the councilor, these types of situations “cannot be repeated. “The Government has to establish a system that mobilizes the necessary police and reception personnel when required.”
For his part, the deputy secretary of Organization, Communication and Electoral of the Popular Party of the Region of Murcia, Joaquín Segado, denounced this Saturday that “the negligence and incapacity of the delegate of the Sánchez Government has once again generated a serious migratory crisis in the Region ».
Segado blamed Francisco Jiménez for creating “a call effect by leaving illegal immigrants on the streets.” “We fear that the mafias that traffic in human beings have once again set their sights on the Region,” he lamented.
