Formula 1, mind-boggling numbers
Last February 29th Formula 1 communicated the 2023 turnovercertifying record numbers, 25% higher than the previous twelve months.
In fact, if in 2022 the figure reached 2.57 billion dollars, last year it reached 3.22 billion dollars. A large part of this figure (2.5 billion) is derived from registration fees, TV rights and sponsors (+21% compared to a year ago).
The division to the teams
As is known, the ten teams obtain a slice of this cake from F1 – guaranteed to them by the Concorde Agreement -, which has been quantified in $1.21 billion for 2023.
The Germans of Cars, Motor and Sport they calculated that the Ferrari she was the one who received the most money – thanks to hers significant historical bonus which increases as revenues grow – and has achieved 208 million dollars.
The Prancing Horse has put the Red Bull (184 million) and Mercedes (179 million). Williams made a nice leap in the rankings, jumping from tenth to seventh place (97 million).
Three teams made a loss compared to 2022: Alpine and Haas obtained 7 million less, Sauber 18 million.
The discord bonus
One of the crucial issues of Concordat Pact the one relating to the historical bonus guaranteed to the company always remains Ferrari. And even for the renewal of the agreement which will start in 2026, the road always seems to be anything but smooth. Always second Car, Motor and Sport: “The smaller teams are asking for a reduction in the bonusbecause they steal their money” and therefore how much to pay to the Rossa will once again be one of the critical points of the new pact.
