Former Minister of Justice and pre-candidate for president, Sérgio Moro (Podemos), used Twitter this Saturday morning to criticize the “support” for the Russian government by its main opponents in this year’s presidential race. “Venezuela, Nicaragua and Cuba support Russian aggression against Ukraine. Aligned with these dictatorships are also Bolsonaro and the PT. We’re on the other side. We do not support war, violence, dictatorships and authoritarianism. And you?”, posted the former judge on the social network.
Moro refers to former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) and the current chief executive, Jair Bolsonaro (PL), leaders in polls to vote for the Planalto. Bolsonaro met with Vladimir Putin in Moscow last week, and went so far as to declare that he was “in solidarity” with Russia. Days after the visit, the Russian government began its invasion of Ukraine.
The bench of senators from the PT, the party of former president Lula, declared support for Russia in posts on Twitter that were deleted after negative repercussions.
