Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition officially announced

Nintendo announces officially Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition For Nintendo Switchthe next one coming July 18th all over the world. The title contains more than 150 quick challenges from NES titles, and it will be possible to compete online on the global leaderboard or play locally with up to eight players.

The limited edition will be available on My Nintendo Store and will include a reproduction of the golden NES cartridge, 13 posters, 5 pins and the physical version of the game.

Nintendo puts on some killer speedrun competitions with Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition

Launching July 18, the title features over 150 speedrun challenges from 13 classic NES games

8 May 2024 – How quickly could you collect a bunch of coins in Super Mario Bros.? Or grab the sword at the beginning of The Legend of Zelda? Or complete the entire first level of Super Mario Bros. 3? Could you do it faster than your friends? Okay, can you do it faster than the rest of the world? It’s time to find out! On July 18th, Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition will kick off a global competition on Nintendo Switch in living rooms around the world. To get a taste of what the game has in store and to increase the feeling of nostalgia, don’t miss the announcement trailer Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition – Released July 18th (Nintendo Switch).

Paying homage to the unforgettable Nintendo World Championships held in person in 1990, 2015 and 2017, Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition challenges players to battle through iconic moments from classic blockbusters. Longtime players, as well as those new to these classics, can enjoy over 150 speedrun challenges from 13 classic NES games. Warm up by setting and beating your best times in single-player Lightning Challenge mode, unlocking new challenges and commemorative pins along the way, and then compete locally in Multiplayer mode with up to eight participants*.

The members of Nintendo Switch Online** They can also participate in the World Tournaments mode to submit their best times in five challenges that vary each week and compete for a place on the global leaderboard.

And those with deep NES roots can prepare for the Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition – Deluxe Set, also available from July 18th. This special edition bundle includes a physical version of the game, a set of 5 collectible pins, a set of 13 art cards commemorating each of the featured NES classics, and a reproduction of the legendary gold NES Game Pak (for display only, stand included) to commemorate the original 1990 Nintendo World Championships event.

Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition, launching July 18, features over 150 speedrun challenges from 13 classic NES games.
