Since the beginning of the year the game called Palworld suffered from many controversies due to the similarity it has with the franchise of Pokémonmostly because of the character design, as the gameplay is quite different from that seen with the pocket monsters. And the first reason was enough for the company that owns the brand to mention that they would take legal action, but as the months went by many thought that nothing would happen, and now the full weight of the law will begin to take effect.
Nintendo and The Pokémon Company have filed a lawsuit against Pocketpair Inc.creators of the survival game, alleging patent infringement. The suit, filed in the Tokyo District Court, seeks both damages and an injunction stopping the alleged copyright infringement. According to Nintendo, Palworld infringes several of its patent rights, arguing that there are similarities in the design of the monsters that violate its intellectual properties, particularly related to the franchise Pokémon.

Pocketpair, known for its development, has gained notoriety for its graphic style and mechanics that have been compared to those of PokémonThese similarities appear to be at the heart of the controversy, as Nintendo believes the game’s creatures and elements infringe on the patents protecting its iconic creations.
This legal action is not new for Nintendo, which has consistently defended its intellectual property rights against any kind of infringement. The company has been steadfast in protecting the brands and universes it has developed over the years, and the case against Palworld This appears to be a new chapter in the battle to safeguard its most valuable franchises.
It is yet to be determined how Pocketpair will respond to these accusations, but this case could influence the future development of Palworld and other games with similar concepts.
