German ice hockey star Leon Draisaitl has gotten back on track in the NHL with the Edmonton Oilers. The 29-year-old contributed one goal and one assist in the clear 6-2 win against the New York Rangers. Draisaitl increased his scoring tally to 30 points this season.
With 24 points, the Oilers remain fourth among the top teams in the Pacific Division after their second win in the last five games. Lukas Reichel also recorded a goal and an assist, but his Chicago Blackhawks still lost to the Philadelphia Flyers 2-3 after extra time. With just 16 points, the Blackhawks are one of the weakest teams in the league.
Tim Stützle also came away empty-handed with the Ottawa Senators on Saturday evening (local time). The striker made it 3-4 against the Vancouver Canucks in the last minute; for Stützle and Co. it was already the fifth defeat in a row.
On the other hand, John-Jason Peterka managed a victory, winning 4-2 with his Buffalo Sabers at the San Jose Sharks without the injured Nico Sturm. Defender Moritz Seider, on the other hand, suffered a 2-1 home defeat with the Detroit Red Wings against the Boston Bruins.
