Dallas Stars tied the match wins at 1-1 against the Edmonton Oilers in the NHL Western Conference final series early Sunday morning Finnish time.
Dallas Credit Defender Esa Lindell sealed the home victory with his 3–1 goal into an empty net two minutes before the final buzzer. The hosts had taken the lead before that Mason Marchment by controlling the hero pack By Ryan Suter shot in from the air.
Lindell’s contribution could very well have been decisive in a more unpleasant way, because in a 1-1 tie he got a shot from the high stick by Evan Bouchard in the face, and Edmonton’s superiority has been the most of the remaining teams the deadliest. Edmonton has succeeded more often than every third with its superiority, but this time Dallas held the top names in the points market Connor McDavid’s and Leon Draisaitl very disciplined. This was the first game of the playoffs where they both went scoreless.
Dallas power defender Miro Heiskanen got the second assist on the opening goal of the match when the cross Wyatt Johnston released By Jamie Benn cleverly knuckled behind his back, even through the side of the rink.
Heiskanen leads Dallas internal points exchange after gathering in 15 matches the powers of 5+9=14.
Dallas two other Finns, first center Roope Hintz and defender Jani Hakanpääwere still on the sidelines injured.
Hintz now missed his fourth straight game with an upper-body injury, despite being considered for the lineup until the final moments. So he may well return to this series of matches. Hakanpää has not played for two months due to a lower body injury, and he is not expected to recover anytime soon.
There are no Finns in Edmonton’s ranks.
The first two games of the series were played in Dallas. The next two are in Edmonton.
In the final series of the Eastern Conference, the New York Rangers and Florida Panthers are also tied 1-1.
