NFL | Video: Star player tackled by four cops on way to stadium – freed in time, runs dazzling touchdown

One of the policemen was temporarily suspended from his post while the case is investigated.

Star player Tyreek Hill’s the opening of the season in the American football league NFL was, to put it mildly, divided.

Driving to Sunday’s home game, the Miami Dolphins wide receiver was pulled over by police for speeding, just a block away from the stadium.

Sports channel ESPN’s NFL reporter by Adam Schefter by sharing on video you can see how the police have put Hill, who earns 30 million dollars a year, lying on his stomach on the side of the road and handcuffed him.

“Seeing my client in handcuffs, some of the things we see in the video seem unnecessary”, Hill’s lawyer Drew Rosenhaus quoth NFL GameDay Morning in an interview with the broadcast, according to the news agency Reuters.

“There was no reason to treat Tyreek this way.”

News agency According to Reuters, Hill was said to have gotten into a verbal spat with the police, but the reporters in front he denied being disrespectful or swearing. He said he didn’t understand at all what it was about.

The police department temporarily suspended one of the policemen who was in the situation while investigating the case, told including the news channel CNN.

“Everything relevant can be deduced from that,” commented Hill.

Hill was released in time for the game and scored a crucial touchdown, or six points, as the Dolphins rallied from a 7–17 deficit to a 20–17 win against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Hill’s run for a touchdown was no less than 80 yards (about 73 meters), i.e. almost end-to-end and the longest of his career.

Hill celebrated his top performance by holding his hands behind his back as if in handcuffs.

The Dolphins’ victory was decided by Jason Sanders with a last-second kick that gets you three points. It measured no less than 52 yards.

On the hill30, has had plenty of problems with officialdom throughout his career. The Oklahoma State University team terminated his contract due to a domestic violence conviction in 2014.

In 2019, Kansas City police suspected Hill of abusing his own child after the 3-year-old boy had a broken arm. However, no evidence was found of Hill’s guilt.

Last year, Hill was investigated by the police for assaulting a port worker, but the case was settled before trial.

He has also acknowledged the paternity of two children as a result of lawsuits.

In the NFL, Hill has played the seasons 2016-2021 for the Kansas City Chiefs and since the 2022 season for the Miami Dolphins.

After the game, Tyreek Hill had enough to smile about.
