Weather: Bad weather returns from Monday with orange alert in Emilia-Romagna and yellow in 11 regions
From Monday 23 September, a wave of bad weather will hit Italy from north to south. A depression of Atlantic origin will bring rain and thunderstorms from the North-West, then extending to the rest of the country, with particular attention to the areas of the Tyrrhenian coast. The Department of Civil Protection has issued an orange alert for Emilia-Romagna and a yellow alert for 11 other regions.
In Emilia-Romagnathe orange alert, issued for hydraulic risk in the provinces of Bologna, Ferrara and Ravenna, sees the floods of the rivers still in critical conditions. A disturbance is expected that could cause intense storms, in particular along the Apennines, with potential landslides and increases in hydrometric levels in the smaller rivers.
The rains will also affect other regions, with yellow alert for storms and hydrogeological risk in various areas of the Lombardy, Lazio, Tuscany, Umbria, Campania, Apulia, Tuscany, Marche, Puglia, Basilicata and Sicily. Authorities recommend that the population pay attention to weather phenomena, avoid areas at risk of flooding and secure objects and mobile structures.
Weather conditions are expected to gradually improve over the next 48 hours. Authorities continue to monitor the situation and have put in place all necessary safety measures.

The Emilia-Romagna region invites you to consult the weather alert on the official website and social channels. In Lombardy, a yellow alert has been issued for storms and hydrogeological risk. The Municipality of Milan calls on citizens to avoid areas at risk of flooding, underpasses and to pay attention to structures such as scaffolding and tents. All citizens are invited to secure objects that could cause damage in the event of strong winds.
The President of the Tuscany Region Eugenio Giani warned the population with a post on social media.
