Thirty-five years do not go unnoticed by anyone, least of all for an iconic SUV like the Vitara which parent company Suzuki is currently launching on the market in the new Hybrid version. Heir to the model that debuted in 1988 as a pioneer of modern compact Sport Utilities, today the new Vitara arrives on the list with two engines: Vitara Hybrid 1.5 140 Voltwhich adopts a 115 HP powertrain combined with a 6-speed automatic transmission (AGS), and Vitara Hybrid 1.4 48 Volt equipped with a 129 HP hybrid solution accompanied by a 6-speed manual gearbox. Both engines can be combined with front-wheel drive or 4WD Allgrip Select all-wheel drive. The Cool and Top setups are reserved for the Hybrid 1.4 48V versions, while the Vitara Hybrid 1.5 140 Volt is offered in a single exclusive and complete setup, Starview.
Suzuki Vitara Hybrid: the design
In addition to new front and lower part of the bumper from the new line, the facelift stands out new grille with black trim flanked by full LED headlights, also revised and corrected from a stylistic point of view. Well 10 colors available5 two-tone and 5 single-colour, of which 2 are totally new: the elegant two-tone livery that combines Capri Blue with the Dubai Black Metallic roof and the single-colour Oslo Gray Metallic paintwork.
Suzuki Vitara Hybrid: a new 9-inch screen
The dashboard of the New Vitara Hybrid features a new infotainment system that operates via a 9-inch high definition display with integrated navigation. Through its screens it is possible to control practically all the functions and intervene on many settings. The system also allows you to connect smartphones via USB and Wi-Fi and use a series of apps via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It is also possible to interact with the car thanks to the Suzuki Connect App, receiving notifications regarding vehicle status and warning lights, as well as geofencing and curfew alerts. The application also provides alerts regarding maintenance and any recall campaigns.
Suzuki Vitara Hybrid: ADAS systems
The new Vitara Hybrid complies with the safety standards of the General Safety Regulation (GSR2). The debut of the “Attentofrena” system level 2 – Dual Sensor Brake Support II (DSBS II), which uses millimeter wave radar and a monocular camera, improving the width and depth of the detection area of obstacles, other vehicles, bicycles and pedestrians. The same sensors support Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), precisely measuring the distance from the vehicle in front and adjusting the speed accordingly to maintain the set safety distance. The Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) is also linked to the road sign recognition system and helps the driver to respect the imposed speed limits. When ACC is active, the “Guidadritto” level 3 – Lane Keep Assist (LKA) system keeps the vehicle in the center of the lane, ready to assist steering in the event of emergency manoeuvres. The “Occhioallimite” level 2 – Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR) system also works in parallel with the Adaptive Cruise Control. This recognizes road signs, reproduces them on the MyDrive display and can also interact with the speed limiter to adapt the speed to current limits. In any case, when the permitted speed is exceeded, an indicator flashes and an audible warning is also emitted.
Suzuki Vitara Hybrid: how much it costs
It starts from 25,900 euros for the 1.4 Cool version, while for the same setup however equipped with 4WD Allgrip: the price rises to 28,900 euros. The Vitara Hybrid 1.4 in Top trim costs 28,100 euros which becomes 31,100 by choosing the 4WD Allgrip equipment. Finally, at the top of the range there is the 1.5 140V Starview AT version, priced at 31,900 euros, which becomes 34,900 for the 1.5 140V Starview 4WD Allgrip AT.
