The minimum wage proposal for 2022 will be R$1,210. The forecast was included in the final report of the Federal Government Budget for next year and presented by Deputy Hugo Leal (PSD-RJ) this Monday (20) at the Joint Budget Committee (CMO), of Congress.
The increase foreseen in the budget piece takes into account the 10.04% increase in the National Consumer Price Index (INPC), an inflation indicator used as a reference in the readjustment of the minimum wage. The minimum is currently at R$1,100 and the government’s initial forecast, when the Budget was sent to Congress in August, was to work with an increase of up to R$1,169.

Even so, even without a real increase in the Brazilian minimum wage, the exact value of the minimum wage for 2021 will only be known next month, with the disclosure of the INPC consolidated in 2021 by the IBGE.
There was a forecast to vote on the Budget this Monday, however the CMO should vote on Leal’s report only tomorrow (21) and then forward the text first to the Chamber and then to the Senate.
