According to the provisions of law 214/2023, Italy can raise the limit of electromagnetic emissions from 6 V/m in 2003 to 15 V/m indicated by the device in question. In a note from the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy, the adaptation of the limits of electromagnetic fields may promote the development of the Italian 5G economy with high-performance networks capable of significantly strengthening the competitiveness of the country system.
In a logic of guaranteeing the most efficient use of the frequency spectrum, through corrective provisions to the Electronic Communications Code, and in compliance with the criteria established by the CEI 211-10 Technical Standard, provisions have been introduced which pursue two fundamental principles: the principle of fair distribution of electromagnetic space and the principle of effectiveness.
The increase in emission limits came into force on 29 April 2024will therefore allow the adoption of 5G to be amplified, and this will mean that infrastructured mobile operators will be able to modify the capacity of their network.
