The TCG of Pokemon is constantly growing, and Today it was revealed that a new expansion will be available next August. These new cards will not only introduce pocket creatures that we originally saw in the second DLC of Scarlet & Violetbut they will have a unique design.
To be specific, It will be next August 2, 2024 when the Shadow Fable expansion is available in the Pokémon TCG. Pecharunt, originally discovered in the DLC The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero, will debut in this new package. Players can use Pecharunt ex to activate a Benched Dark-type Pokémon with its Controlling Chains ability. It is possible to pair Pecharunt ex with Okidogi ex, Munkidori ex and Fezandipiti ex to unlock different combinations.
With this, one of the most striking sections of this expansion are the holographic cards, which will feature a new unique holographic design around the card illustration. These are some of the most notable cards in this expansion:
- 3 Trainer cards of rare rarity TACTICAL AS
- 5 ex Pokémon and 1 ex Teracrystal Pokémon
- 15 Pokémon of Rare rarity Illustration
- 10 cards of ex Pokémon, ex Pokémon Teracrystal and Ultra Rare Supporter cards
- 5 Pokémon and Supporter cards of rarity Rare Special Illustration
- 5 gold-plated and embossed Hyper Rare rarity cards
The Scarlet and Purple cards – Grim Fable will be available in the following products:
- The Scarlet and Purple Elite Trainer Box – Grim Fable (Available August 2, 2024): Includes nine Scarlet and Purple-Dark Fable booster packs, a Rare Illustration-style Pecharunt promo card, and various in-game accessories.
- The Kingambit Illustration Collection of Scarlet and Purple – Grim Fable (Available August 2, 2024): Includes four Scarlet and Purple booster packs – Grim Fable, a Rare Illustration-style Kingambit promo card with a unique Japanese woodblock design, and two holographic promo cards: one of Pawniard and another from Bisharp.
- The Special Illustration Collection Kingdra ex of Scarlet and Purple-Gloomy Fable (Available August 2, 2024): Includes five Scarlet and Purple – Grim Fable booster packs, one Rare Special Illustration style Kingdra Ex promo card with a unique Japanese woodblock design, and two holographic promo cards: one of Horsea and another from Seadra.
- The Greninja Ex Special Illustration Collection of Scarlet and Purple – Grim Fable (Available August 2, 2024): Includes five Scarlet and Purple booster packs – Grim Fable, one Rare Special Illustration-style Greninja ex promo card with a unique Japanese woodblock design, and two holographic promo cards: one of Froakie and another from Frogadier.
- The blister pack of 3 booster packs and 1 promo card for Scarlet and Purple – Grim Fable (Available August 2, 2024): Includes three Scarlet and Purple – Grim Fable booster packs and a holographic Pecharunt promo card.
- The Scarlet and Purple Mini Tin-Fable gloomy (Available August 2, 2024): Includes two Scarlet and Purple – Grim Fable booster packs, a sticker sheet, and an artwork card to match the Dusknoir, Zoroark, Okidogi, Munkidori, or Fezandipiti tin.
- The Scarlet and Purple Booster Pack Bundle – Grim Fable (available September 6, 2024): Includes six Scarlet and Purple booster packs – Grim Fable.

As a collector, what stands out to me the most are the card designs, and it looks like the new holographic options will become an item that everyone will want to get their hands on in the future.
