Our fourth day of this trip to Japan opened with a visit to the little street of Ameyoko (Ameya-Yokochō), an ancient market of clothes, accessories, but above all delicious street food. And it is precisely to the exquisite street food that we dedicated the morning, enjoying takoyaki And sashimi fresh by drinking a few glasses ofSanko Shoten”, a very filthy open-air restaurant where the food was really good and, to the delight of Kuramayou could even smoke at the counter.
In the Ameyoko market it is also possible to find some oddities, such as vending machines gashapon with mysterious content, to be tried at your own risk. As a daredevil, I didn't hesitate to throw away 400 yen only to regret it immediately after opening the capsule, which contained a strange condom (fortunately, still to be used).
From there we walked to the park Ueno climbing many stairs, unfortunately for me, and arriving to visit the first of the temples of this day, the Kiyomizu Kannon-DoBuddhist temple founded in 1631. I took a few omamori as a souvenir and we continued our walk, meeting another group of Italians on holiday a little further on and laughing like idiots at the crows that were screaming in a rather ambiguous in that zone.
The next stop was Asakusaa neighborhood overlooked by Sensoji, the most famous and important temple in Tokyo, which has now become a real trap for tourists due to prices that have practically doubled compared to a few years ago. Paying 700 yen for a magnet is starting to smell like theft to me, I hope I can find some at Donki in these days. After visiting the temple and taking a look at everything in the surroundings we took our travel companions to the Tiger Gyoza, our favorite place in the neighborhood. Finding it still closed, however, we spent some time there TAITO Station nearby, until it opened and I finally had the opportunity to put my hands on the cabinet Gundam EXTREME VS.2 OVERBOOST. The restaurant's counter was able to accommodate us all only because we were the first customers of the evening: we ate some excellent food Giant size gyoza and tasted decent Coke HighballL. Those who had the ramen were not particularly happy, we hope to be able to eat a decent one before returning to Italy.
The day ended with a quick lap at the Tokyo Skytree, which unfortunately was already in the process of being closed and did not allow further entrances to the panoramic bridge. We only managed to pop in Pokémon Center where I bought a few gifts, only to find another anime themed store to do the same thing. However, it was too late to climb to the top of the tower.
On the following day we visited Shibuya, Harajuku and Shinjukubut we'll talk about this in the next episode.
