The Palestinian National Authority, led by Mahmoud Abbas, responded this Friday, February 23, that it will not accept a Gaza Strip that is not part of an eventual Palestinian State, “with Jerusalem as its capital.” The statement came hours after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu presented the so-called 'day after' plan, his first official proposal for the Palestinian enclave once the ongoing war ends. According to the document, the Jewish-majority State seeks a demilitarized Strip, whose security depends on Israel and in which the United Nations Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA), among others, does not exist.
