Néstor Lornzo: “It’s a long road and until the last moment we have to grow”

The Colombian National Team defeated Mexico 3-2 in a friendly match in the United States. The team suffered at the beginning, but recovered and managed to come back.

Nestor Lorenzo spoke after the game. He admitted the bad start, the mistakes and the lack of confidence. But he celebrated the team’s reaction and desire in the second half.

Lorenzo’s reactions

Change of actitud: “I told them that what we were doing was not enough, that we promised to play an intense game and we were late, a little lukewarm.”

Mistakes “I attribute it to confidence, at 5 we lost from a penalty, we made mistakes that made Mexico generate with their pressure. Errors make us look bad, we talked about that, playing to a thousand and we were 200. It was a lack of confidence” .

Unsafety: “We generated against Guatemala from the first half, in this one we did go wrong, but it wasn’t just not pressing, there was insecurity at the start and Mexico got bigger.

Square: “Muñoz and Uribe injured… We wanted to see other guys. Juan’s thing, we needed faster circulation and he could help us and he did fantastic.”

Evolution: “The changes have to be small but permanent, to consolidate partnerships, it is a long road and until the last moment we have to continue growing. Steps are taken. The initial approach was not good, in the second it was better, more intense and it came out. We gain confidence.”
