Neil Druckmannpresident of Naughty Doghad the opportunity to talk about the next project of the study, describing it as “very ambitious” and admitting that it will be difficult to achieve. The occasion was an interview granted to Logically Speaking, some extracts of which were published online.
Naughty Dog comes from a particularly difficult period, among layoffs and an entire canceled game, known as The Last of Us Online, which was never released.
Currently it seems that the focus of the study has returned to single player games, with multiple projects in development at the same time. For now nothing is known about it, although some hope that The Last of Us Part 3 will also be among these.
Hard work
“I gave up knowing that it will be very difficult and that it will stress out the team members,” Druckmann said of the mystery game, adding that he will do everything possible to make it a fun experience for him and others who work on it.
Druckmann then explained that his joy comes from leading the team and listening to their ideas about the game. Among the contributions that impressed him the most, there are those of Kurt Margenau, the codirector of The Last of Us Part 2.
It's a shame that Druckmann didn't provide other details regarding Naughty Dog's projects, which we will probably see materialize on PS6, given the current development times of the triple-A games.
