Two days after Trump’s election, the former Dutch prime minister said he wanted to meet with him
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte met on Friday with US President-elect Donald Trump in Palm Beach, Florida, the Atlantic Alliance spokesperson announced this Saturday.
“They discussed the set of global security problems that the Alliance is facing,” Farah Dakhlallah said in a brief statement.
Two days after Trump’s election on November 5, the former Dutch prime minister said he wanted to meet with him. He then stated that he wanted to address the “threat” posed by strengthening ties between Russia and North Korea with the elected president.
«I hope to sit down with President Trump and analyze how we will collectively ensure that we confront this threat,” Rutte said on November 7 on the sidelines of a meeting of European leaders in Budapest.
Since then, the head of NATO has not stopped warning about the danger of rapprochement between China, North Korea and Iranthree countries accused of helping Russia in its war against Ukraine.
