National vs. Tolima, open case: resource granted to the Ibagué team

Atlético Nacional was crowned champion of the League last Sundayafter beating Deportes Tolima globally in the Colombian soccer final.

The series was played under protest from the Ibagué team, who denounced the alleged poor registration of the player Giovanni Morenowho was authorized by the disciplinary committee just before the first leg of the final, despite having been sanctioned.

Moreno had been punished with two games of suspension for provocation to the public, during the game that Nacional tied without goals against Millonarios, on June 11.

That day, Moreno was in one of the boxes at the El Campín stadium, because he could not perform due to injury. The player made fun of the Millonarios fans with gestures that the championship’s Disciplinary Commission considered offensive.

Well, this Thursday the committee issued its respective bulletin of sanctions in which it indicates that it grants the appeal to Tolima, against the previous resolution, number 38, which declared the corresponding complaint inadmissible.

Resolution 39 indicates that it is resolved: “Grant the appeal of Club Deportes Tolima SA. against Resolution No. 038 dated June 24, 2022 of the Disciplinary Committee of the DIMAYOR Championship and transfer the file to the DIMAYOR Disciplinary Commission, under the terms of article 175 of the FCF CDU”.

Now the Commission is expected to resolve the appeal that generated so much controversy at the end of the championship.
