Formula one has driven the most races during the time and won the 2007 World Championship in the series Kimi Raikkonen returns to the racetracks.
U.S. Nascar Series said on Thursday that Räikkönen will race in the Nascar Cup on the legendary Watkins Glen track on August 21st.
Räikkönen, 42, ended his stunning F1 career last season. He already has previous experience of Nascar, as while on a break from F1 in 2010-11, he competed in two Nascar races. One was in the Xfinity Series track car series and the other in the Camping World Truck Series truck series.
The Nascar Cup is a section of the Nascar series. Räikkönen will drive the Trackev team’s Chevrolet Camaro at number 91 in the Watkins Glen race.
“I didn’t expect to compete anymore, but [tallipomo] Justin Marks came to me in Switzerland and convinced me how serious he is about creating a top class stable. This is going to be fun, but I am still very serious about this. I know how fierce the competition is in the Nascar Cup, and this will be a tough challenge, ”Räikkönen said.
“I think he’s doing really, really well. This is not just a public relations stunt, ”assured the team boss Marks.
