The “Horse Head Nebula” was photographed from the Abu Dhabi desert in the UAE, where it took two full nights to capture, in addition to three days of artistic processing.
According to astrophotographer Wissam Ayoub, what distinguished the image is the amount of detail visible in the shot and the nature of the colors, stressing that this is not an easy task.
Ayoub used his personal photographic equipment consisting of a telescope, stand, and astrophotography camera, in addition to special filters.
The same image was also chosen as the best astronomical image in the world from the most famous astronomical image website in the world Astrobin on October 28.
It is worth noting that NASA had previously chosen on two previous occasions, in October 2020 and March 2021, images of Ayoub as the best astronomical image.
Ayoub has a record full of satellite images of nebulae, galaxies and planets, which takes him great effort and focus to show them in an amazing and distinct suit that has attracted widespread admiration at the international level.
Wissam Ayoub won a number of other international awards, including the award (the best picture for today, October 19, 2020) from the famous “AstroBin” website, which specializes in satellite images.
He also received an award (Best Image of the Week, October 19, 2020) from the ZWO Astronomy Cameras website.
