Once upon a time there was Udinese, in the sense that often the Friulians were the expensive shop to which Napoli turned for its purchases (see Inler). Now, however, the blue club has a different need: to thin out its staff by replenishing their coffers so that they can eventually place a few shots at the entrance.
Thorny cases
–
The idea is to also satisfy the needs of those players who may have shown intolerance to the bench and to some of Spalletti’s choices. Nothing transcendental, for heaven’s sake, but also on the part of the coach from Certaldo there is the intention to start the new season without long faces in the locker room. Consequently, the most “thorny” cases (Politano, Demme, Ounas and Petagna) must be resolved quickly also to complete the squad available to Lucianone, making it as homogeneous as possible. De Laurentiis, however, absolutely does not intend to sell off his products, also because some of the outgoing items were lavishly paid a few seasons ago.
Matteo and Diego
–
This is the case of Matteo Politano, paid to Inter over 20 million, and for whom Gattuso’s Valencia came forward. Logical, given that the striker of the national team is now in full maturity, that Napoli for him is not satisfied with a few coins but asks precisely between 18 and 20 million because Politano would still be useful to Spalletti as an alternative to Lozano. More or less similar speech for Diego Demme, costing 10 million and who provided excellent performances with Ringhio on the bench not a lifetime ago but just a year ago. That’s why Napoli values him at least what he paid for him even if at the moment there have been a couple of interests from the Bundesliga and some approach with the “usual” Valencia.
Sales and then …
–
“Pay money and see camel” Claudio Lotito said and De Laurentiis does not think otherwise. Andrea Petagna – consequently – could trigger an auction because there are not many Italian forwards with his characteristics and therefore Sampdoria, Monza and also in Turin have made some timid polls to which Napoli has proved sensitive despite not having the need to sell Petagna (current deputy Osimhen). A striker like that cannot be let go for less than 15-20 million while an imaginative one like Ounas could also be worth ten million if it were not for the fact that his contract expires in 2023. This is why Salernitana and the other clubs involved the Nigerian are stalling but with 5 million they could take him home. Doing the math, four transfers for 50 million euros would be a not bad treasure for Napoli, then called upon to reinvest that amount on Deulofeu, on the central quarter (Ostigard?) And on another attacking winger.
