The average check for housing and communal services (HCS) in Russia in 2021 amounted to 3,405 rubles. This amount is named in the study of Russian Standard Bank, which publishes RIA News.
The experts studied utility checks paid by mobile bank users and compared the results with the amounts for 2020. The increase in the price tag for the year amounted to a little more than 200 rubles – in 2020, Russians paid an average of 3,168 rubles for housing and communal services.
According to analysts, the difference in the amounts is explained by the fact that in 2019-2020 the winter was warm, and the batteries in the houses did not have to be heated much. However, the next winter was cold and snowy, so heating costs increased.
The cities with the highest utility bills are Naberezhnye Chelny (4,772 rubles), Tyumen (3,880 rubles), Moscow (3,475 rubles), Togliatti (3,414 rubles) and St. Petersburg (2,806 rubles).
Earlier, Nadezhda Kosareva, president of the Institute for Urban Economics Foundation, said that the number of recipients of targeted subsidies for housing and communal services (HCS) could increase to 11 million families when switching to economically justified tariffs.
