When choosing a heating system for a home, it is worth using the source of energy that is available in a particular area and is optimal in price, Alexander Maslov, chairman of the expert council of the Eurasian Heating Systems Market Association, told Izvestia.
“Russia is a northern, cold country. Accordingly, for at least six months, all people in it need a source of constant heat for their homes. It can be either a central heating system or an individual one, that is, a heating boiler (boiler),” he said.
According to him, the type of fuel used when using the boiler depends primarily on the region.
“Somewhere it is more profitable to heat with coal, for example, in Kuzbass, since there is a lot of it, somewhere there is a lot of water, like in Transbaikalia, so there is inexpensive electricity, somewhere it is more expedient to use gas,” he specified.
The expert emphasized that the device must meet the needs of the client. You should pay attention to such important parameters as reliability and safety.
“Here it is important to immediately take into account the availability of spare parts and authorized certified service centers. And also do not forget about the annual inspection and qualified service. Ideally, they should be held at least twice a year,” Maslov said.
At the same time, he noted that wall-mounted boilers seriously save space compared to floor boilers – about three times. In addition, they are often more modern and high-tech.
“Under ideal conditions, with a ceiling height of 2.5 m and good thermal insulation per 10 sq. m of the room should account for 1 kW of boiler power. That is, for heating 200 sq. m of premises, a boiler with a capacity of only 20 kW is needed,” Maslov emphasized.
He said that there are cases when people use a boiler for heating and a water heater for hot water, which is suboptimal due to high electricity costs, although water can be heated from a boiler using much cheaper gas.
At the same time, the head of the sales department at Glavstroy 365, Ilya Dmitriev, believes that the most profitable heating option is a main gas boiler. But he also notes that not all regions and settlements are fully gasified.
He called electric heating one of the cheapest to install, but this option is one of the most expensive to operate.
“It is worth noting the autonomy of the electric boiler – there is no need to monitor the loading of fuel, which is actually not here. In addition, such heating is the easiest to integrate into a smart home system and set up remote control. <...> It must be borne in mind that in remote villages there may not be the necessary power to maintain the operation of the system, ”said Dmitriev.
Among the exotic types of heating is a liquid fuel boiler or a gas bottle, but they are not common due to high operating costs, he added.
“The final price for any type of heating is strongly influenced by the availability of a particular type of fuel in your area. Great savings with any method of heating will give high-quality insulation of the house. If heat loss through the walls, floor, roof, windows and doors is not minimized, then even heating with main gas will cost a pretty penny,” the expert summed up.
In early July, it became known that the Ministry of Construction, the Ministry of Energy and other departments were instructed to work out legislative changes on the priority of using local fuels in the regions, including wood waste and fuel pellets (pellets) for heating cities. It was noted that the ministry considers it expedient to transfer coal and fuel oil boilers to biofuel, primarily in those subjects in which such facilities already exist. For example, in the Altai Territory, Rostov Region, Novosibirsk Region, etc.
