The winners of NACTOY 2024 were announced in recent days, the North American Car, Truck, and Utility Vehicle of the Year, an award equivalent to the European Car of The Year (the 2024 edition will be awarded again on the opening day of the Geneva Motor Show) and which identifies the cars preferred by the jury and American professionals. The selection process started with 52 candidate cars, divided into the car, SUV and pick-up categories, resulting in three winners being chosen.
Three prizes for three categories
Last September at the Detroit Motor Show the list was thinned out, with 25 models named “The Best of 2024” with the final short list arriving at the Los Angeles Auto Show. From the group of 9 finalists, the cars that won the North American Car of the Year, the North American Truck of the Year and the North American Utility Vehicle of the Year were defined. During 2023, NACTOY jurors spent hundreds of hours test driving, evaluating vehicles in terms of automotive innovation, design, safety, performance, technology, driver satisfaction, user experience. The award reached its 30th edition in 2024 and is assigned by a jury of 50 industry experts from magazines, newspapers and specialized sites.
