MV Agusta Superveloce Ago – Motokicx

The Italian PR department of MV Agusta is somewhat known for sending out a press release for every sch**t in a bottle. We usually save up the special and limited editions and include them in the Shortshift section of our magazines, where they have become a bit of a running gag by now. But for this one we are happy to make an exception…

During the past MotoGP race weekend at Misano, the MV Agusta Superveloce Ago was presented as a tribute to Giacomo Agostini. There was of course the F4 Ago and the F3 Ago before, so the whole idea of the Superveloce Ago is not so ‘unique’ now, but who cares.

The MV Agusta Superveloce Ago is limited to 311 pieces (for as many victories), of which the first 15 pieces are even more exclusive (for 15 world titles). They get a carbon plate with special graphics on the fuel cap. Also not missing on the tank: the signature of the master himself.

The Superveloce Ago does it with the same numbers as the ‘regular’ (147 hp and 88 Nm), but for the occasion will be equipped with a 43 mm Öhlins NIX front fork and a TTX 36 rear shock absorber, both fully adjustable, while the adjustable steering damper is bolted on. sits on a CNC machined support. Parts of the fairing are carbon and handmade, such as the side panels, the bottom of the butt and the passenger seat cover. An ‘old style’ windshield and wire wheels at the front and rear complete the picture.

The Ago comes standard with the three pipes, as befits the MV Agusta, there is also a racing kit with Arrow exhausts (two pipes on the right, one on the left) plus red handgrips and an ECU with modified mappings. It also comes with a motorcycle cover and of course a certificate of authenticity. May also be, for the thick 32,000 euros that the Ago must cost…
