Guitarist About Jimi Hendrix (1942–1970) a new documentary is being made. Hendrix’s estate has authorized the documentary film and is involved in its making.
The film is directed by Bao Nguyen. His previous documentary The Greatest Night in Pop tells We Are the World – the song’s story. It received an Emmy nomination.
“I want to capture the vibrant atmosphere of the 1960s music world and portray Hendrix’s meteoric rise to superstardom, culminating in his legendary appearance at the Monterey Pop Festival in 1967,” Nguyen says. According to Deadline.
Document Jimmy focuses on Hendrix’s London period in the 1960s. Hendrix arrived in London in 1966. He returned to the United States the following year and quickly became a well-known innovator of the electric guitar. The documentary examines how he changed and developed during his time in London.
The documentary contains new interviews, previously unpublished photographs and restored film material from the period.
“Jim’s London period was the most turning point in his life story and musical career,” says Janie Hendrix Jimi Hendrix’s sister, who is one of the producers of the documentary.
