Music|Timo Kalevi Forss, who wrote about the political song movement, regrets that today’s political discussion is more about revenge than standing up.
Congressman Sebastian Tynkkynen (ps) published a clip of a song made by artificial intelligence on his X account last Sunday #Hatred.
“The best way to respond to the 24/7 rampage of the hate left in the comment fields is humor. That’s why we made them our own power song #Vihavasemmisto”, writes Tynkkynen on his X account.
The song was released in its entirety Miko Bergbom’s (ps), Joakim Vigelius (ps) and in the podcast hosted by Tynkkynen The hottest topics of the week.
The text of the song, which represents heavy metal music, ironically tells about supporters of the “green left” who decide to anonymously attack “those who think differently”.
“Wake up from your sleep / look at your phone. Someone has taken a stand and thought differently. / It’s time to start an attack with anonymous forces. / Scream, howl. / Cry, roar,” the song sings.
Tuesday Congressman Minja Koskela (left) released his own song equivalent.
“The bastards made a ‘song’ out of the imaginary left with artificial intelligence. I made an answer about real assholes. Without artificial intelligence,” Koskela writes in X.
Koskela laughs at how the Perus Finns wanted to lower the price of gasoline, but voted against their own initiative.
“Not enough talent, not enough edge. It was not enough to have a bargaining chip in the framework dispute“, sings Koskela in the chorus and continues: “Politics is difficult. The podcast will probably make it easier, even if the artificial intelligence writes the arguments.“
The publication of both politicians has been widely commented on. However, there is a clear difference in the tone of the comments. The comments Koskela receives are mostly complimentary.
Under Tynkkynen’s publication, one wonders, among other things, the open mocking of citizens.
“With artificial intelligence hate speech dressed up in music,” says the non-fiction writer and journalist who is familiar with political songs Timo Kalevi Forss From the song by Tynkkynen and partners.
He thinks that the text of the song was turned in such a way that it doesn’t offend anyone too much, that it can’t be caught, as it were.
“Young people in suits [Vigelius ja Bergbom] also squealed the whole time in that video. There was a bit of a school bully’s laughing tone in it.”
According to Forss, the “good point” in the song is anonymity. Criticizing how you can shout on social media without your own name.
“A degree a more developed song”, Forss analyzes Koskela’s song.
“Just the right song with folk influences, which the political song movement obviously had in addition to marching music and threats. Koskela’s songs sing about populism, raising the price of gasoline and turning the tide.”
Political song movement is the general name for the left-wing political song movement that flourished in Finland in the early 1970s. The competition between Tynkkynen and Koskela continues this tradition in its own way.
Although Forss sees merit in Koskela’s song, it also has problems.
“I shared some good stuff, but some of it went along the same lines of dissing sandbox play. What the bastards can’t do and are incapable of.”
Fors can see in the still life rap beef echoes. There are a lot of steaks at the latest the beef between Kendrick Lamar and Drake that received media attention.
Forsythia it’s sad that political discussion is often just avenging the excesses of others. Real problems and political themes, such as climate change, overspending and privatization are left behind.
“They grind at the feet of social media. An endless circle is born, in which real politics is something boring people do.”
Forss, who wrote about the political song movement, says that the reach is different at different times.
He brings up Samae Koskinen a song Now it’s normal to be a Naziwhich Koskinen released on his latest album I dreamed that everything went well (2024).
“If you think about what a political song can be at its best now in 2024, I would highlight this song.”
