After three months of trial, a Trial Court found guilty Jorge Alberto CA, a former IMSS nurse accused of murdering five members of a family in 2018, but exonerated his partner and son, also accused of this crime.
The trial against the “nurse of death”, his wife Lisseth CS, and his son Jorge Alberto C., began on March 15, being led by judges Luis Francisco León De Merino, Armando Arreguín Sánchez and Lizbeth Alondra Chávez Jurado .
Yesterday, the judges concluded that only the former nurse from Clinic 58 of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) is criminally responsible for the aggravated homicide of five members of the Romero Armendáriz family, despite the fact that the Public Ministry tried to prove the guilt of the three accused.
The victims of this multiple homicide were María Magdalena Romero Armendáriz, Ricardo Iván Chávez Pérez, Daniela Romero Armendáriz, Daniel Gregorio Romero Vega and Rita Armendáriz, in events that occurred in this city on June 29, 2018.
According to criminal case 1614/2019, in 2018, the Romero family contacted nurse Jorge Alberto to help them obtain a kidney for an urgent transplant.
He offered them one in exchange for 500 thousand pesos, however, months passed without the nurse making the delivery.
On June 29 of that year, Jorge Alberto went to the victims’ house, located in Lomas Universidad, in the company of his partner and son, to complete the delivery of the organ.
After talking for several minutes, Jorge and his wife Lisseth shot everyone present; Only one minor survived.
Despite the evidence provided to support the theory of the case, the Court considered the elements presented by the Public Prosecutor’s Office to be insufficient to convict the nurse’s wife and son.
The hearing to individualize the sentence for Jorge Alberto CA will be held on June 19. According to what was stated in the trial, the penalty could reach 300 years in prison.
It is the second sentence against Jorge Alberto, since in January 2023 he was sentenced to 21 years and 10 months in prison for murdering another IMSS nurse, whom he had promised to get a better job in exchange for 80 A thousand pesos.
