The measure cannot be extended to those businesses that did not have this space before December 31, 2021
The Governing Board of the Murcia City Council approved the maintenance of the validity of the authorizations for ‘Covid terraces’ or other facilities granted in parking areas, after their approval in 2020 as a support measure for the hospitality sector, affected by the resulting economic crisis generated by the pandemic.
In this way, those owners who had this concession until December 31, 2021, will maintain its validity for a maximum period of one year, extendable for another year, without prejudice to the obligation to pay the land occupation rate that such reason was required.
Thus, according to the Councilor for European Programs, Municipal Initiatives and Public Roads, Juan Fernando Hernández, “about 150 establishments will be able to benefit from this measure that will be extendable for another year.” The measure will come into force after being approved by the Consistory and may not be extended to those businesses that did not have a terrace before December 31, 2021
Likewise, the Governing Board determines that those authorizations of ‘Covid terraces’ that for reasons of execution of the Mobility Plan or others provided for in the Ordinance had to be revoked, will be in accordance with the legally established assumptions, without the right to any compensation. for such a concept.
From the Consitorio they indicated that for its approval there were previous reports that determine that although the economic situation has improved due to the favorable evolution of the health crisis caused by Covid-19, there is still a distant scenario of the economic indices prior to the pandemic . For this reason, the City Council emphasized that the administrations must prioritize their public policies, opting for the actions that are most effective to achieve business and labor economic reactivation.
